Hard copy
I have been confined to the cashier station of our Book Fair most of this week. I used the time to scan magazine articles that staff might use for close text reading with their students. My criteria was one-pagers, strong theme, cross-discipline topics, evidence of critical thinking, and opportunity for extended applications. I posted them in the faculty room adjacent to the photocopier instead of delivering them to particular faculty in hopes of establishing the idea of an at-hand bank of resources. A best case scenario would be for this to lead to specific requests from staff as well as a collaboration to frame questions of rigor together.
