On Tuesday afternoon I hosted about a dozen faculty mentors and mentees. Had some nice refreshments before I made a presentation about the librarian, library services, some library vision, and some nice back and forth on how we might both support each others' goals.
This morning I hosted the Elementary faculty meeting at the request of their principal to demonstrate how they might recognize, motivate, and inspire students by sharing student work and project photos within the school, on screensavers, and by making it part of their routine to submit examples to the school web site.
I might add that on Tuesday morning I invited the elementary principal to my library to share ideas on how a large-screen TV (like I just purchased for the library) situated in the school lobby could provide an ongoing slideshow of student work and accomplishments AND provide a nearly absent Elementary School presence in the lobby. (I had a dynamite slideshow running on it to make my pitch.)
