It's about bridges
All about our Route 41 bridge crossing the Susquehanna River in Afton. Cool. Cool site!
Stumbled on the site while following up on the Tappan Zee bridge girders that have been going by our house: 120 feet long, 12 feet wide, weighing in at 105 tons.
Have been fascinated by the construction process: assembling the girders south of Albany into huge 400 foot bridge decks, floated to the site by barge, then lifted into place by the largest crane in the world.
This is a swell engineering document that presents the breadth of the planning and detail.
