Our lunchtime poetry reading in the library yesterday was a very rewarding experience. Two students and four staff members read from their work to an audience of a dozen supportive listeners. One student had invited his Mom, sister, and brother; the latter being the subject of the poem he shared with them for the first time. Pretty real moment.
The ol' library came through as a warm and nurturing spot, and trust sat in with us also.
We decided that we will try an informal weekly lunchtime reading each Thursday. Thank you National Poetry Month.
