A narrow reading

This article from The Atlantic raises the fearful reality of trusting your knowledge of the world from one source only; in this case a high school textbook, in other cases one teacher. It is a kick-in-the-pants to remind us that research, discovery, and the skills we teach are fundamental to citizenship, if nothing more.
