Being a creative non- routine worker

I've been watching some of the videos from the IBM Think conference. This video from Tom Friedmam's talk covers a lot of ground. In talking about the kind of jobs skills we need, he emphasized the importance of being a creative non-routine worker; being prepared to invent your job even as you are working it. If your work is average and routine, it can be described by an algorithm and be done by a machine or software. It isn't about fulfilling a job, it is about creating one.
