Google Art Project

I will forgo my usual pejorative Google proviso and just say that their latest offering, Art Project, offers some breathtaking opportunities to enjoy some breathtaking paintings: like 1000 of them; paintings, that is.

For example, zoom in on Portrait of a Fat Man and tell me if you ever noticed the nuances of highlight and shadow that describe an eye to our eye with the same scrutiny that this master saw and rendered in 1425.

The opportunity to linger-over and explore these paintings make for an enjoyable and instructive indulgence.
