A colleague of mine introduced me to this compelling speech by Ken Quick, Jr., retiring New York State FFA President. It is a bravura piece public speaking by a high school student. I was particularly taken with his motivational focus about 7 minutes into his speech when he urged his fellow members not be satisfied with the ribbons and plaques of various competitions, but to use the skills those competitions demand to accomplish real work in the real world.
