Kindles to Klassrooms?

The new Kindle DX is on its way as a textbook for college classrooms:

"Amazon said it had reached agreements with three major textbook publishers to make their books available in the Kindle store: Pearson Education, Cengage Learning and Wiley Higher Education. It said six colleges and universities — Pace, Arizona State, Case Western Reserve, Princeton, Reed College and the University of Virginia — would begin testing the device with students later this year."

As we explore podcasts, MP3 players, SmartBoards and all sorts of variations to supplement our textbooks at ACS, we need to be prepared for and expectant of this new kind of "text-thing."

FYI: our DCMO School Library System has 3 Kindles and 6 SONY readers that will be at our disposal to borrow next Fall.
