This book, New Found Land by Allan Wolf, is a wonderful combination of historical narrative and epic poem in many voices. It is a novel of the Lewis and Clark expedition that weaves poignant fact with an aesthetic sensibility that is masterful. Finding it as a $5 remainder book, I was stunned by its sweep, the integrity of its poetry, and the accessability that it provides to the content as well as the art form. Ol' Dan will be lobbying for this!
