Rescued by students

Frankly, I was in a bit of a funk this week...until this morning when I was rescued, buoyed, and otherwise reminded why this profession is 50% soul.

I got an email request to videotape a sixth grade class. So I approach the classroom with the camera running, and there they are, fifteen kids draped in bedsheet togas, acting (and I mean acting!) out wonderful skit based on Roman politics. It was sublime!

With the camera still in hand, I come back to the library to fine my middle school master of Google SketchUp with two of his buddies on adjacent machines, giving them them one of the most lucid, succinct, and inspired tutorials I have ever witnessed...teaching and learning for the pure reason of wanting to do both. I got it on film!

And lastly, a quiet student comes forward to one of his teachers after we hosted a MS/HS art show. He has been taking photos at home. Would she like to see them. Revelation...they are art!
We hook up with the art teacher. They will be printed, matted, and put on display...art on your own.
