Our library now has two MP3 players to loan to students and staff. This model from Califone features two headphone jacks as well a built-in microphone for voice recording.
Podcasts can easily be loaded onto the device or created with it!
The voice recording feature will provide opportunities for students to make recordings of poems, papers, and procedures they have written as well reporting-out on current events, critcisms, and class notes; all of which can be posted for download and sharing.

(In fact, here's a site (Pediaphon) that makes MP3 audio files from any Wikipedia entry. An alternative way to "digest" an encyclopedia article???)
