Greetings,
Congratulations on reaching your Senior year at ACS!
It is a great time to celebrate and share your accomplishments in the classroom, on the field, upon the stage, and on the job - both to enjoy the deserving praise, but, more importantly, to model your initiative to younger students.
And so I am putting the library (and the librarian) at your disposal as a venue for you to share with us your skills, talents, and character. For example:
- If you are an artist, let’s schedule an exhibit of your work, or have you paint a library chair, or draw portraits of everyone in your class!
- If you are a performer, let’s produce a lunchtime performance, or an evening recital, or music/acting videos we can preview on “film nights.”
- If you are a writer, let’s have a reading of your work, or create broadsides of your poetry, or bound anthologies of your writing. (Imagine a yearbook-like book full of Senior drawings, paintings, stories, etc.)
- If you work, lets create an exhibit or video-documentary that illustrates your passion and goals within your trade.
- If you have a posse to thank, or a community group you would like to treat to a tea and cupcakes, let’s do invitations, iron the linen, and host them in grand style.
I hope you as individuals or as a class take me up on what has always been a standing offer at the library: to celebrate student accomplishment.
Let’s talk.
