I am a huge advocate of technology
as a tool for figuring stuff out
and sharing ideas, but
when it comes to making things:
houses, essays, images, baskets -
craftsmanship; which is to say
prideful work,
always trumps the tools we use.
I was reminded of this
when comparing this
hand-made basket (at right)
with our perfectly-printed 3D vase.
Prideful work improves
whatever tool you use.

(That amazing basket, made in 1905, is in the Thaw Collection at the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown!)
