Closure for me on our most recent Common Read, The Tiger's Wife, was watching the LiveStream of Téa Obreht's booktalk as part of Colgate's Living Writers series (I remembered at the last minute as I was about to go tote some firewood!). It was an enjoyable and insightful hour of her reading from new work and from The Tiger's Wife, telling about how a trip to investigate vampires in the Balkans prompted revisions to her already-accepted manuscript, and taking questions. I especially appreciated how she is dealing with the pressures and expectations of her second novel.
