Makerspace: base camp

I asked a student, Class of 2014, to share his knowledge of woodcraft with us to illustrate that all of us have something we know, something we study, something we practice on our own.

Listening to him him I notice two things: 1) how much he has learned on his own, and 2) how hungry he is to learn more, any way that he can.  He is good at camping and woodcraft, he is proud of it, but he welcomes every opportunity to learn more. He is a student of woodcraft.

I thanked him for sharing a piece of himself with us and for reminding us that when it comes to our individual passions for learning, all students are teachers, and all teachers are students.
