Began my day by chasing down a few
members of our “100+” club: patrons with book overdue 100 days.
Nothing like that personal touch.
Checked in a projector and buzzer
system that were on loan to staff.
Updated the header banner of the school
site with an 3-D project image and an elementary art display.
Shared an article with the HS art
teacher about the observational integrity of cave-painting artists.
Happy to see a student has begun a library chair painting based on
the 1980s!
Loaned out three cameras to students in
Spanish class making videos. Helped one student bring his green
screen clips into iMovie with a hands-on tutorial and set up the
tripod and green screen for another group.
Hosted a MS AIS class researching
biographies for Women's History Month: Rachel Carson, Isadora Duncan,
Amelia Earhart, etc.
Followed through on a faculty request
to draw a life-size anonymous figure for a presentation later this
week. She had seen the figures I created for our Olweus bulletin
board in the library.
Showed a returning 8th grade
student how to get up and running with SketchUp so that he might make
a 3-D object before the MakerBot moves on.
Our littleBits crew updated their
remote-control three-wheel rover with lights that brighten as the
ambient light diminishes! Filmed it against the green-screen and made
a 15-second video for them of it “roving” on Mars.
Began distributing the BOCES Media Fair
entry forms and posters.
Flipped through the new SLJ. A short
article on how Google has made it easier to identify
copyright-friendly images caught my eye. So I took some screen shots
of the process, voiced-over a slideshow, and posted it on the Library
home page.
