Just put a hold on it at the Denver Public Library! Sounds good! You should look into the book called "Periodic Tales: A Cultural History of the Elements, from Arsenic to Zinc"
Sounds like it's set up the same way, you can read the whole thing or skip to a specific chapter.
Good idea and good choice of first book! Perhaps one way to share the book is to follow the author's lead and suggest readers take hikes and pictures this winter to look for local signs of cold weather animal life.
I'm in. I'll try to stop by today and pick up a copy. The other book that Rachel recommended, "Periodic Tales: A Cultural History of the Elements, from Arsenic to Zinc" sounds fascinating. Looking for that now.
The first twelve years of my blogging was as pilot and chief navigator for the ACS MS/HS Library working to cultivate the intellectual climate within our school by sharing discoveries, ideas, reflections, and a part of myself (dddjournal.blogspot.com). Now, with this blog I, well, hope to do the same for anyone who happens by.

Cool! I'm adding "Periodic Tales" to my order list!
Winter walks is a good idea. Maybe the group can even take a culminating walk together.
