Inaugural Reading: Richard Blanco
Text of Richard Blanco's poem.
I enjoy Blanco's bodiless overview of America and Americans; those specific observations, the "gorgeous din of honking cabs, / buses launching down avenues, the symphony / of footsteps guitars, screeching subways," that harken back so much to Walt Whitman's infatuation with America in Song of Myself.
