This is an advertising graphic (full page in the NYT) for Avenues: The World School, but it struck me as an excellent visual for teaching an understanding of latitude; as in, "I wish I had thought of it."
And, as long as I have been reading about Detroit's high-vacancy neighborhoods, it wasn't until I saw this graphic in Architectural Record that I was able to appreciate the special circumstances that the size of the city has on the problem.
