An interesting article in The Chronicle of higher education about course-recommendation software at some colleges modeled on the idea of Netflix-like recommendations. The idea is that academic advisement would benefit from a more analytical approach. It may also help in directing students to explore majors they may not otherwise have known were appropriate for their interests. An interesting academic adaption of a business model.
