I made one painting this past year. I painted this new one over a painting that I had made in my college days. In the course of painting this full-length portrait, I sanded and scraped away some of my new paint so that I could use patches of the original painting underneath (Pentimento is a term used to describe this process.).
The image is of one of my younger brothers; a robust fellow who is powerful, sensitive, proud, and hard-working. The painting is five-feet high.
