I am reading Adam Gopnik's Angels and Ages; A Short Book about Darwin, Lincoln, and Modern Life.
I am a third of the way through it.
It is wonderfully literate, lucid, and (I think) consummate writing. It is like reading the essays of Wendell Berry; where every sentence is minted for the value of its content as well as the sheen of its image.
It is all I can do not to read aloud every other paragraph to whoever else is sitting in the room with me.
I would tell you more (I will tell you more!), but I need, have to, get back to the book.
(It is from our very own ACS Library!)
