History Engine is a neat idea for a resource and teaching tool. It is a searchable database of historic "episodes;" 500-word articles researched and written by college student-historians then vetted by professors and librarian for content and accuracy.
Each "snippet" of history is based on a primary source with supporting secondary sources; the goal being to tell a story, not argue a point.
As much as being a nifty resource for our students to utilize, I think it is an exciting template for us to put into practice; researching context and support for our local primary documents while "publishing" the screened results as a resource for others. Powerful stuff.
