3-4-5
Eighth grade science students will be applying an 8-foot compass rose to the library floor to anchor multiple student exhibits about mapping and orienteering.
As an illustration of how they might create a right angle at the intersection of the north-south east-west axis, I showed them how to "swing it" with a compass and how to create one with a 3-4-5 triangle; building my triangle sides out of uniform Ticondergas to reinforce the 3-4-5 proportion.
