Bullying is high on our district's list of priorities; and well it should be. In this insightful piece by Dacher Keltner, however, he reminds us and illustrates that teasing is different from bullying and "is a mode of play, no doubt with a sharp edge, in which we provoke to negotiate life's ambiguities and conflicts." In a word, beneficial.
His observations are research-based and his conclusions are refreshing in that they step into the bullying arena with disarming clarity to identify the nuances that separate the boundaries of social exchange from damaging disregard.
